How can we help you?

Browse by topic

Is this camp right for my athlete?

Does my child have the skiing level to join?

Choosing a programme

Saas-Fee welcomes developing racers through to FIS athletes, with groups organised by age and racing level. For eight- and nine-year-olds, the dedicated U10 programme requires strong skiing and independent T-bar use. Super-G and Peer indoor camps require a high racing level.

If your child is new to gates or has mainly skied recreationally, tell us their age, skiing experience and training goals before booking. The team can help identify a suitable camp or private-training option; age alone does not confirm suitability.

Compare ski racing programmes →

Can I send a skiing video before booking?

Level assessment

If you are unsure which group is suitable, include a link to a recent skiing video with your enquiry, together with the athlete’s age, racing experience and preferred dates. Explain whether the video shows free skiing or gate training and what you would like to work on. Ask the booking team to confirm suitability before paying.

Compare ski racing programmes →

How do age categories work, and can my child join an older group?

Age categories · U10 to FIS

Programme pages use categories such as U10, U12, U14, U16 and FIS. Send the athlete’s date of birth and intended camp dates so the team can confirm the appropriate category for that season. The dedicated U10 camp is for strong skiers aged eight and nine.

Training with an older category is not automatic. Ask the team to assess the athlete’s level and independence as well as the group available. If siblings are in different categories, include both athletes’ details; attending the same camp does not guarantee training in the same group.

How does private race training differ from camp and shared training?

Training formats

Camp: join a scheduled programme with other athletes, grouped according to age and racing level. Check the specific camp for its training days, activities and group size.

Private: hire a coach for one athlete or your own pre-formed group, with a personalised plan. Options include a four-hour morning or a full day. The published private rates vary with the number of skiers.

Shared training: where this format is offered, confirm the other athletes, session length and per-person rate with the team. The Weekend camp specifies a shared-training rate when its four-athlete minimum is not met; this rule should not be assumed for other camps.

Who is the Saas-Fee summer ski camp for?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn

Dates & flexible attendance

Where can I check Swiss glacier ski training dates and camp availability?

Dates & places

Use the programme guide to open the relevant camp’s dates and prices. Send your preferred dates, athlete’s age and racing experience through Book Now / Contact so the team can confirm a suitable place and quote. A published date is not a confirmation of a place.

If the next season is not listed, ask about your preferred period. Confirm the training dates, hotel nights and arrival and departure arrangements before booking travel.

Ski camp booking, inclusions and insurance guide →

Can I attend fewer days, join midweek or train mornings only?

Flexible attendance

If you need flexible ski camp dates, check the options for your selected programme.
Saas-Fee summer and autumn: the programme lists a single-day training option as well as weekly camps. Send the exact days you would like to attend so the team can check the available group and programme.

Morning-only: private training offers a four-hour morning session. Morning-only attendance in a camp group or joining midweek needs a specific arrangement; ask what training, meals and afternoon activities your quote includes.

Other formats: Weekend camps provide a short block; the dedicated U10 camp allows only one consecutive week. Availability and minimum commitments vary by programme.

Compare ski racing programmes →

Which dates are arrival, training and departure days?

Plan your stay

Regular Saas-Fee summer and autumn camp: arrive Sunday for hotel check-in from 14:00–16:00 and the 16:30 welcome meeting. The normal plan has five ski days Monday–Friday, and camp finishes Saturday at 13:00. Saturday skiing depends on the weekly programme.

Weekend camps: arrive Friday evening, train Saturday and Sunday, and depart Sunday late afternoon; extra Friday training is available.

Super-G and other camps: confirm the actual ski days, arrival time, departure time and hotel nights for your selected block. Use these details when arranging flights or school leave.

Saas-Fee camp arrival and daily schedule guide →

Is there optional ski training on Saturday?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn camp

If skiing has taken place Monday to Friday, optional Saturday gate training may be offered at CHF 133 plus the ski pass. Details are shared through WhatsApp during the camp. Otherwise, Saturday follows the normal programme, including a make-up ski session where applicable.

Groups & training programme

How are groups formed, and how many athletes train with each coach?

Groups & coaching

Our small-group ski racing training in Saas-Fee is organised by age and racing level, with up to eight racers per coach. The dedicated U10 camp has a maximum of four; Super-G has up to six; Zermatt and Peer indoor programmes list up to eight.

For a particular week, ask about the planned age categories and racing levels. A programme accepting FIS athletes is not necessarily FIS-only: Peer, for example, lists U14, U16 and FIS. Group size limits do not tell you which athletes are already enrolled.

Compare ski racing programmes →

What happens if there are not enough athletes for a group?

Group availability

The advertised Weekend camp format requires at least four athletes. If this minimum is not met, the programme specifies the shared-training rate.

For other camps, ask the team to confirm group availability and any minimum enrolment for your dates. If an alternative format is proposed, request its session length, group size and total price before confirming it.

Saas-Fee weekend ski racing camp details →

How many ski days and training hours are included?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn camp

The regular week plans five ski days and six activity days. Summer ski training is typically 08:00–12:00, including a short break. Lunch and rest are followed by afternoon video analysis, equipment maintenance and physical and mental conditioning, typically 15:30–18:30.

Autumn starts later and ski sessions are longer. The coach’s daily schedule takes precedence over these example times. Check the camp WhatsApp channel for the next day’s meeting time and any changes.

Saas-Fee summer ski camp dates and prices →

Which days are SL, GS or Super-G, and when is the schedule confirmed?

Disciplines & schedule

Choose a programme that matches your goals: Peer focuses on slalom (SL), Super-G camps focus on speed training, and Weekend and Zinal programmes include giant slalom (GS) and SL. Zinal and Chile list SG as an option.

If you need a specific discipline on specific dates, ask the team to confirm the planned block before booking. Do not assume every discipline runs every day. For regular Saas-Fee camps, the weekly schedule is shared at the welcome meeting and daily updates through the camp WhatsApp channel.

Compare ski racing programmes →

Is video analysis included in ski racing camp?

Coaching & feedback

Video analysis is listed in the regular Saas-Fee, Zinal, Adults / Masters, Peer indoor and private-training programmes. Check the selected programme or quote for your exact format.

At regular Saas-Fee camps, coaches upload training videos to Google Drive daily. The access link is in the original booking confirmation email.

Prices, inclusions & booking

What does a ski race camp in Switzerland cost, and what is included?

Prices & inclusions

Regular Saas-Fee camp: the training price includes training and lane space, with five ski days and six activity days. Ski passes and athlete accommodation are priced separately. The athlete-hotel option includes three meals plus a snack per day and supervision.

Other programmes: Chile lists lift passes and airport shuttles; Zinal lists lunch on the slopes with training. Inclusions vary, so check the selected programme rather than assuming the same package applies everywhere.

Before paying, review your quote for training and lane fees, ski passes, hotel nights, meals, transfers, rental and optional services. Check whether each price is per athlete, day, week, night or vehicle. Use the programme’s current prices and your itemised invoice for the total.

Ski camp booking, inclusions and insurance guide →

How is the price calculated for one athlete, siblings or a private group?

Prices & group quotes

Check the unit shown alongside each price. Camp training may be priced per athlete per week or day; accommodation is priced per night; private-training rates depend on how many athletes share the coach and the session length.

For siblings or a group, send the number of athletes, ages, levels and dates and request an itemised quote. Ask whether any discount applies; do not assume that adding another athlete halves the total or that a sibling discount is automatic.

Ski camp booking, inclusions and insurance guide →

Which Saas-Fee ski pass do I need, and is it included?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn camp

Saas-Fee ski passes are invoiced separately from training. Prices depend on the athlete’s age and the number of ski days. Check the current Saas-Fee programme prices and your invoice for the appropriate child or adult pass.

Give the booking team the athlete’s date of birth and exact training dates when arranging the pass. Pass inclusion differs at other destinations; check your selected programme.

Ski camp booking, inclusions and insurance guide →

Can I use my Magic Pass for the summer camp?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn camp

Magic Pass does not cover summer and autumn glacier skiing in Saas-Fee. Athletes must arrange the appropriate ski pass through Ski Zenit. For dates around the transition to winter operations, confirm the applicable pass with the team.

How do I book a camp or request a personalised programme?

All programmes · Booking

Use Book Now / Contact and tell us the programme, preferred dates and athlete’s age, skiing level and racing experience. The team will help confirm suitability, available options and your quote.

Ski camp booking and payment guide →

How do I pay, and when is my booking confirmed?

Booking & payment

Follow the payment instructions in your booking email and check the itemised invoice before paying. The booking guide states that a booking is confirmed once the full invoice is paid, and that unconfirmed bookings are cancelled after four days.

If you need a payment link, invoice correction or clarification of an amount, reply to the original booking email so the team can check the same reservation. See the Terms & Conditions for the applicable booking rules.

Accommodation, supervision & meals

How does ski camp supervision work for children staying without parents?

Accommodation & supervision

For ski race accommodation in Switzerland, regular Saas-Fee and Zermatt camps offer supervised athlete accommodation during camp dates. The dedicated U10 camp does not offer the supervised athlete hotel. Zinal supervised lodging is available from age 14.

Confirm your child’s eligibility and accommodation option before booking travel. Check who is responsible outside training, the handover and collection arrangements, and any nights before or after camp. Hotel supervision, airport assistance and transfers are separate arrangements.

Ski camp accommodation, meals and supervision guide →

Can my U10 child stay in the supervised athlete hotel?

U10 camp · Accommodation

No. The dedicated U10 camp does not provide the supervised athlete hotel. Contact Ski Zenit to discuss alternative accommodation and arrangements for your family.

Can parents stay at the same hotel or book accommodation independently?

Family accommodation

Ask the booking team about family hotels or apartments for your dates. Regular Saas-Fee and private-training pages invite enquiries about other accommodation; do not assume a parent room is available in the supervised athlete hotel.

Before reserving independently, confirm the athlete’s meeting point, transport, meals and responsibility outside training hours. At the Saas-Fee athlete hotel, rooms and upper floors are reserved for athletes and staff, and parents do not join coached camp activities.

Ski camp accommodation, meals and supervision guide →

Which ski camp meals are included for hotel and training-only athletes?

Programme-dependent · Meals

Saas-Fee athlete hotel: the published hotel option includes three meals plus a snack per day. Athletes should bring their snack and at least one litre of water to morning training.

Training-only or staying elsewhere: check the meal items in your quote. Zinal lists lunch on the slopes with training; do not assume meals are included in every camp’s training price.

If staying elsewhere and you would like to eat with the team, ask the booking team to confirm availability, the meals covered and any charge before arrival. Saas-Fee hotel dinner is at 19:00; dining out with parents requires explicit authorisation.

Ski camp accommodation, meals and supervision guide →

Is supervision included between consecutive weeks?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn camp

Yes. Weekend supervision is included for athletes staying at the Ski Zenit hotel for multiple consecutive weeks. Hotel athletes under 16 are escorted to the morning meeting point by the hotel supervisor.

Travel & arrival

Which airport is best for travelling to Saas-Fee or Zinal / Grimentz?

Switzerland · Travel

Private transfers to Saas-Fee are available from Geneva, Zurich and Milan. For Zinal or Grimentz, request a transfer from your preferred airport or agreed pickup point.

Compare the full journey, not only the flight: arrival time, onward travel, ski luggage and transfer cost all matter. Send your flight options to the team and request journey estimates and quotes before booking. Confirm that the arrival and return timings fit the camp.

Ski camp travel and airport transfer guide →

How do I arrange a ski transfer to Saas-Fee or another camp?

All programmes · Transfers

Yes. Door-to-door transfers can be arranged for athletes, families and groups. Send the destination, date, flight or train details, passenger numbers and ski-luggage requirements through your booking email.

Request a written quote for your journey. Confirm whether the price is per person or vehicle, one-way or return, and what luggage is included. Ask about waiting time, extra stops, late pickups and any child-assistance fee. Chile lists airport shuttles in its programme; confirm the agreed pickup arrangements and accompanying-family costs.

Ski camp travel and airport transfer guide →

Can an athlete travel alone, and can you collect them at the airport?

Children travelling without parents

Tell the team the child’s age, airline and whether they will use an unaccompanied-minor service before booking travel. Ask the team to confirm whether the required handover can be arranged, who will meet the child and whether assistance has a separate fee.

Airport assistance, the road transfer and supervision at camp are separate arrangements. Confirm responsibility at each handover and check the airline’s requirements directly with the airline.

Ski camp travel and airport transfer guide →

Which airport should I use for the Chile camp?

Chile · Travel

Fly into Santiago de Chile. International travel to and from Santiago is not included in the camp price. The Chile programme lists airport shuttles among its inclusions; confirm the transfer arrangements for your booking and any accompanying family members.

Equipment & rental

What ski equipment should I bring?

Saas-Fee · Summer & autumn camp

Skis and boots: GS and SL skis, labelled with your name or initials. U10 athletes need GS or longer SL skis only. Bring properly fitting race boots and check that the bindings are compatible before arrival.

Choosing ski race equipment →

How do I arrange ski racing equipment rental before camp?

All programmes · Equipment rental

Request rental through your original booking email, including the destination, training dates, height, weight, MONDO boot size and boot sole length. The team will confirm race-grade equipment availability, size, setup, price and collection for your destination.

For Saas-Fee, send the request by Friday at 18:00 Zurich time before camp; earlier is better because stock is limited. Fitting is at Glacier Sport on Sunday at 15:00, before the welcome meeting. A Ski Zenit coach and shop staff help with fitting and setup; rental skis are labelled with the athlete’s name.

Equipment purchases with racer discounts can also be arranged. Ask the team to confirm availability and pricing before travelling.

What should be on my ski camp packing list?

Saas-Fee · Packing checklist

Changes, cancellations & weather

Can I change my booked training dates?

Booking changes

Reply to your original booking email with the booked dates and the dates you would like instead. Ask the team to confirm availability, any price difference and the conditions that apply to your booking before changing travel arrangements. A request does not confirm the change or transfer of booked services.

Ski camp booking, inclusions and insurance guide →

What happens if I cancel, get injured or the ski area closes?

Changes, cancellations & weather

Cancellation before camp: the applicable booking terms determine the cancellation conditions. If you purchased optional Cancellation Protection, check its separate coverage and notice requirements.

Illness, injury or early departure: tell the team promptly through your booking email. Eligibility for a refund or credit depends on the applicable terms and any protection purchased; it is not automatic.

Weather or lift closure: the published booking guide states that there are no refunds for inclement weather or lift closures; alternative activities or training arrangements are provided. Read the Terms & Conditions and the protection guide for the full rules.

Ski camp booking, inclusions and insurance guide →

What happens if the glacier is closed?

How does Cancellation Protection work, and when can I add it?

Optional service · Cancellation Protection

Optional Cancellation Protection can be purchased at the time of booking. It covers selected Ski Zenit training, Saas-Fee and Chile hotel services, transfers and rental equipment. Lift passes, third-party services and the protection fee are excluded. It is separate from medical and rescue cover.

With Cancellation Protection, cancellation up to 48 hours before the activity may receive a 90% refund or 95% credit on covered services. Written notice and the working-hour requirements in the terms apply. Read the full procedure before relying on a cancellation deadline.

Does Cancellation Protection cover leaving camp early?

Optional service · Early departure

With Cancellation Protection, medically documented illness or injury, or documented family bereavement, may qualify for a refund or credit on unused covered services. Voluntary early departure without a covered reason does not qualify.
