Sports Psychology

At Ski Zenit, we believe long-term performance goes hand in hand with academic stability and personal balance. When schooling is well-structured and adapted to training and travel, athletes reduce stress, improve time-management, and can fully focus on training and competition—while still protecting future opportunities (graduation pathways, university access, scholarships, and career options).

Families are always free to choose the school solution that best fits their child’s needs and long-term goals. That said, Ski Zenit works with a selection of trusted education partners and flexible schooling pathways that are well-suited to student-athletes. If a family needs support in this area, we can help guide them toward the right option and facilitate the search for an appropriate solution.

Please read our General Terms and Conditions carefully before booking.
Feel free to enquire about accommodation in a variety of hotels and apartments or about airport shuttles if you require these.

All athletes participating in the Camp must have current ski accident insurance valid in Switzerland covering at least civil liability, rescue on the slopes (including helicopter), medical treatment and repatriation. We recommend insurance which also reimburses you for services unused due to injury (ski pass, training, lodging, etc.).

Photocopies of participants’ insurance card must be given to Ski Zenit leaders upon arrival or a digital copy can be sent ahead of time.

Switzerland has agreements with EU Member States for medical assistance at public hospitals. In order to take advantage of such agreements, you must have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). You need to apply for this card well in advance at your local medical centre in the EU.

SUMMER: Zermatt, Saas-Fee, and Chile. During the summer, we transition from glaciers in Europe to winter in South America. We focus on building a solid foundation to ensure that, when we arrive in Chile, we are ready to make the most of the excellent training conditions.

FALL: Saas-Fee and Zinal. From September to mid-November, we stay in Saas-Fee to train alongside some of the world’s best alpine skiers. Starting mid-November, we move to Zinal, a ski resort that, early in the season, is open exclusively to competition skiers, ensuring some of the best training conditions in the northern hemisphere.

WINTER: Valais. One of the highlights of our ski racing academy is that we can choose from a vast array of world-class ski resorts for our training. Being perfectly located in the heart of the Alps, we can choose from more than 20 ski resorts within a 45-minute drive. This also makes it very easy for us to get to nearby ski races.

Switzerland is a member of the Schengen Area meaning that travellers from EU countries which are party to that treaty may enter the country with their identity card. However, minors must always travel with a valid passport. Travellers from other countries must check the conditions for entry into Switzerland before embarking on their trip.

We offer several boarding options:

SCHOOL BOARDING: Our partner school offers boarding for its students. It is a boarding school located adjacent to the international school, and athletes staying in this boarding facility will enjoy all the comforts of a top-notch boarding school. There will be a mix of international students, many of whom are not participating in our ski program.

SKI ZENIT HOUSE: Ski Zenit has a rented house that will be used for athletes. These are shared rooms with bunk beds, and athletes will be living with one of the Ski Zenit coaches. The cooking, cleaning, organizing, etc., is shared among all the members of the house. Athletes must be organized and self-sufficient for this accommodation.

OWN LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: Many of our athletes live nearby with their families or are old enough to live on their own. We can help athletes and families find the best deals on the market.

Ski Zenit offers its athletes and their chaperones a transfer service in comfortable mini-buses from/to the Geneva, Zürich, Basel or Milan airports. Transfer by motorway takes about three hours. All airport transfer drivers are authorised to check-in all young athletes traveling alone.

We organize our training with a strong academic program in mind. The schools we partner with offer flexibility in their curriculum so that athletes can combine a robust skiing career with their academics.

Some of our athletes are already engaged in online schooling and should follow a schedule compatible with our training.

Athletes in other schools need to ensure that they offer enough flexibility to join the ski race academy program.

Convenient train service is available from the Zurich, Geneva, Milan and Basel airports to the town of Visp taking about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
From the Visp train station you must take a bus to Saas-Fee (two buses per hour) which takes about 45 minutes. You can purchase both legs of the trip on a single ticket through the SBB website.

Depending on the country athletes come from, they will need to apply for a residence permit in Switzerland. We can apply for a study permit. This process could take some time, so it needs to be organized in advance. For athletes holding an EU passport, it’s a formality.
